Welcome back folks. In this section we’ll be running through a step-by-step process for deploying an ASR Configuration Server. This server is vitally important within an ASR deployment as it not only handles the comms between your on-premises VMware environment and Azure but is also responsible for handling data replication. If you’ve been following the whole series thus far, great, but if not I’d suggest you have a look back at the Azure Site Recovery page before continuing. With no further ado let’s crack on.

Part 2: ASR VMware – Azure Environment Prep

Overview

Welcome back folks. In the last post we looked at the ASR Deployment Planner Tool, used it to profile our VMware environment and provide a report of what that environment may look like/cost in Azure. In this post we’ll be preparing our VMware and Azure environments for enabling disaster recovery to Azure.

Our first task will be to take care of a couple of requirements in our Azure subscription, namely the deployment of an Azure Recovery Services Vault and a Virtual Network…so let’s do that.
